Mahi is the multidisciplinary studio led by designer and maker, James Elliott, working across material-led collections spanning furniture, sculpture and objects for use. Each piece is part of a conversation and ongoing dialogue between material and purpose, celebrating the honesty of materials, form and function.
Shaped by James’s professional experience as an industrial designer, his practice honours thoughtful design and playful curiosity - resulting in objects to live alongside, made withintention and enduring craftsmanship. Each piece and collection begins with a sketch, the seedling of an idea, before being taken to the workshop and developed througha combination of craft and contemporary manufacturing processes, a result of experimentation and ongoing refinement.
